Tessenderlo Kerley is currently seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Senior Manager to oversee the HSE department. As the HSE Sr. Manager, you will lead a team of professionals in the design and execution of key HSE programs across all 17 of our locations. You will be the main SME for all occupational, safety, health and environmental concerns within Tessenderlo Kerley, ensuring our high safety record continues to exceed industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape Our HSE Strategy: Develop and oversee the implementation of Tessenderlo Kerley’s HSE manuals and programs across all business units.
  • Lead and Inspire: Direct corporate safety personnel in general industry and construction, as well as MSHA mining disciplines.
  • Ensure Compliance: Manage regulatory personnel and ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, ANSI and NFPA standards.
  • Consult and Collaborate: Provide expert consultation on occupational health, safety and environmental issues to the Tessenderlo Kerley management team.
  • Audit and Improve: Conduct and report on safety and environmental audits of all company facilities, driving continuous improvement.
  • Analyze and Adapt: Keep our company ahead of regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant standards.

Key Projects You’ll Lead:

  • SIFP Program: Drive the Severe Injury & Fatality Prevention (SIFP) program, focusing on enhancing procedural, process, organizational and behavioral safety.
  • HSE Excellence: Implement and manage comprehensive HSE and environmental safety programs across our facilities.

Profile

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience: BS/BA in a safety-related discipline, environmental discipline, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 10 years HSE management experience in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DOT, ANSI and NFPA standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership experience with strong supervisory skills and a track record of managing successful teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a diverse team.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 35% and be an emergency contact during off hours.
