Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc., a leader in our industry, known for our innovative solutions and commitment to excellence, seeks a Project Controls Scheduler to join our dynamic team. This critical role involves developing and maintaining detailed schedules across engineering, design, fabrication and construction phases, ensuring the successful execution of complex projects.

Job Overview:

As the Project Controls Scheduler, you will be pivotal in creating, managing and updating project schedules, and facilitating seamless communication between various departments and stakeholders. Your expertise in MS Projects and comprehensive knowledge of engineering and design disciplines will drive the accurate reporting of schedule, resource allocations, and earned values to Project Management and above.

Candidates who excel in this role will understand and have experience in fabrication shops and field construction in a design and engineering capacity, preferably in the petrochemical field. However, experience in other related areas such as mining, semiconductors, specialty chemicals, fabrication and construction, pharmaceuticals, plastics and polymers, and paper and pulp will also be valuable. The right person for this position will be detail-oriented, adept at using systems, and thrive in a demanding and multifaceted environment.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using MS Projects.
  • Integrate cost elements for earned value analysis and reporting.
  • Plan and level portfolio resources to align with program schedules.
  • Support the execution team in data collection and timeline interpretation.
  • Conduct month-end Earned Value reporting, assessing BCWS, BCWP, ACWP, SPI, CPI, EAC, BAC and VAC.
  • Regularly update and provide weekly progress reports, layouts and master schedule publications.
  • Lead coordination of schedules with internal and external customers/partners.
  • Perform various analyses, including trend, earned value, productivity, risk and other KPIs.
  • Present formal reports and presentations to management and customers.
  • Act as lead scheduler for EPC projects, managing schedule integration and updates.
  • Communicate schedule changes and impacts to higher management and customers.
  • Develop complex CPN schedules, process maps (workflow) and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Implement cost control, project forecasting and monthly cash-flow forecasting.
  • Monitor cost performance and produce accurate cost forecasts.
  • Provide leadership, training, guidance and mentoring to project teams.

Profile

What we need:

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Scheduler in the petrochemical industry or related fields (e.g., mining, semiconductor, specialty chemicals, fabrication and construction, pharma, plastics and polymers, paper and pulp).
  • BS in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration.
  • PMI or AACE Project Control Professional qualification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Projects, Primavera P6, Monte Carlo Simulation software (e.g., Pertmaster, Safran Risk), MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management and Last Planner System/Lean Construction preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced data analytical skills and Excel proficiency.
  • Knowledge of SAP finance module.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and collaborate within a team.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and act as a team player with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
