Purpose of the Job:

  • Implementation of the Group Operational Excellence strategy in the different Business Units.
  • Lead the journey to optimize the working methods, improve efficiency, streamline processes, look for best practices and synergies, ensure continuous improvement,  focus on productivity, reduction of waste, costs and non-adding value tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Introduces the Group Operational Excellence strategy and supports in translating this into a BU specific program, short term and long term plans, across all business departments.
  • Assists with implementations of techniques, tools and processes in conjunction with the local site management. Hands on approach with presence on the work floor, to start up initiatives and projects.
  • Facilitates adequate training and coaches the local management, site facilitators and others. You provide support for the local project managers, who lead the different initiatives.
  • Follow-up and monitor the operational excellence programs for compliance with the Group and BU plans and adequacy.  Monitors Operational excellence performance and KPI trends and reports all findings to the BU MT, Site Managers and Head of Digital Transformation and Operational Excellence.
  • Be in a close relation with the Sites to transfer know-how, experiences, best practices and successes, across  the different BUs. Manage a community and interactive exchange.
  • Assists in creating and implementing change management plans that minimize employee resistance and maximize employee engagement, together with local HR management. Stimulates and facilitates a culture of continuous improvement and focus on performance and efficiency, within the Group.
  • Act as an expert in its matter and is part of a center of excellence on Group level. You will share knowledge and expertise within multidisciplinary teams. Assists or leads in investigations of major root cause analysis, process mapping and other operational excellence techniques.  Consolidates the recommendations for future improvements.
  • You embrace digital transformation which supports the acceleration of  the Operational Excellence journey, in close collaboration with the Digital Team.
  • Reports to the Head of Digital Transformation and Operational Excellence and has a functional reporting line to the site director. You’ll be part of the operational plant team of Ham.

Profile

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Fluent English and Dutch
  • A minimum of 5 years of successful work experience in the field, at an industrial operations company, on international scale.
  • Ability to bring ideas to reduce costs and improve efficiencies
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, analyzing, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to function well within a matrix reporting environment
  • Proven skills working with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to interact and present to upper management
  • Ability to connect and interact with the work floor
  • Hands on approach, able to work in the field
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Strong Project and Change Management skills
  • Coaching and teaching skills

Education Requirements:

  • Engineering Master’s degree preferred
  • Any Operational Excellence technique or certification are a nice plus
